There will be a High Mass on Friday, July 16th at the usual 7:00 PM time. Additionally, there will be an enrollment into the Confraternity of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (the Brown Scapular) following Mass. Anyone who desires to grow in holiness, to pray regularly and to openly honor the Blessed Virgin may be enrolled in the Scapular. All those who have made their First Holy Communion within the past year are encouraged to enroll and to wear their special habiliments. For the enrollment, please provide your own scapular of brown woven wool and your name on a small piece of paper (for enrollment purposes). The Scapular must be rectangular in shape. The Scapulars must be worn over the shoulders in such a manner that one part hangs in front of the body and the other in the back (worn in any other way, it carries no Indulgence). It is not necessary, however, to wear the Scapular next to the skin; it may be worn over one’s clothes or even enclosed in some sort of case. In the latter event, the panels of the Scapular must be actually attached to the cords which should join them so that, were the covering removed, the Scapular would be intact. Contact Fr. Mould with any questions you may have.
